Maddy Scholar is the owner and founder of The Red Letter Project and MaddyDawg Training, she found her passion for shooting during her time in the US Coast Guard. During and after her time in service, she completed her Masters degree oversees in the United Kingdom and is a 3x published author in addition to her shooting career. She is also involved in private security and executive protection work throughout the state.
Maddy currently teaches full time and co-founded the Lady Sharpshooters group with her mother, Melissa. Her business, The Red Letter Project, focuses on hosting large-scale women’s self defense retreats.  She is also an avid competitive shooter and looks to include more women in the sport.
In addition, Maddy attributes much of her teaching abilities to her background in competitive cage fighting, skydiving, bull-riding, and river diving. Specifically, her passion for combat sports has led her to spread awareness of the importance of understanding how to better defend.

Cheryl Lavette is an NRA and USCCA certified firearms instructor. She is the founder and co-leads the monthly Buckhead Chapter of AWA, Armed Women of America and is the Georgia State Director for the DC Project. 

The DC Project raises awareness that firearms safety and violence prevention are achieved through education, not legislation; encourages the preservation of America’s gun culture; and highlights the diversity and rising demographics of female gun owners through ongoing advocacy because gun rights are women’s rights.
